Hibernian 3-5 Spartans
Spartans reached the Scottish Women’s Premier League Cup Final with a 5-3 win over Hibernian last night, with Diana Barry dominant with a four-goal haul.
Barry proved a real handful for Hibs, as she won and converted two first-half penalties past Gemma Fay. Hibs were denied a spot-kick of their own after a challenge on Stacey Cook, while Spartans' keeper Joanne Hutcheson pulled iff fine saves to deny Laura Kennedy was and Suzanne Grant.
The deficit was halved before the break, as Grant beat Hutcheson with a lob, the same player then levelling the scores at the start of the second-half.
Barry replied with her hat-trick goal and restored the two-goal advantage when a deflected shot fell kindly for her. Barry might have added a fifth and although Fay parried the effort, Hayley Lauder finished the rebound.
Hibs got a late consolation goal but it is Spartans who go forward to face Glasgow City in the final at Stirling's Forthbank Stadium on Saturday November 8th.
