Forest To Play At Carlton
20/07/2008
Newly Promoted Nottingham Forest are currently preparing for their new season challenges in the F.A National Premier Division and a priority for the Club was to secure a new home ground which met the stringent F.A Ground Criteria when playing at the highest level.

The club have been in negotiations over the last few months with several aligned men’s clubs but are now delighted to announce a newly formed alliance with Nottingham based Club Carlton Town F.C.

Carlton Town play in the Unibond 1st Division South League and finished tenth out of 18 in their first season at that level.

Carlton have made significant developments to the pitch and ground facilities over the past few years and Forest Ladies can now reap the rewards for the 2008/2009 season.

Forest Ladies Chairperson P.J Andrews says: “Carlton Town have been refreshingly enthusiastic and the whole club has a great feel to it. Their Chairman, Mick Garton, is a huge Forest Fan and has been thoroughly accommodating even though we understand his priority is with Carlton F.C. Their 1st team Manager, Tommy Brookbanks, is a guy who is totally passionate about his team, the club and the game of football and he is keen to help support Forest Ladies in our quest for continued improvement across all areas. With this kind of fervour and interest it is hard to be nothing less than excited about the move for this season.

“I would like to thank Dunkirk F.C who have hosted Forest Ladies for the past three years, we know they understand the reasons for us having to move on but Steve Throssell, Club Secretary, has been very supportive in our time down at Dunkirk F.C.”

“Carlton’s facilities are an improvement for Forest Ladies and should enhance match preparation for the management team and players. The management will have access to a meeting room, Physio room and hospitality facility whilst the players now have direct and private access to the pitch directly from the changing rooms amongst other benefits. The car park is equally equipped to host visiting teams who bring along travelling fans also and access to the ground is also on an accessible and direct route.”

Nottinghamshire F.A Women’s Girls and Football Development Officer Trevor Powell says: “It’s great news for Forest Ladies and it is good to hear that a Nottingham Men’s side is working to help in hosting the Flagship women’s club of Nottingham as they prepare to play at the highest level.”

Mick Garton, Charlton Town F.C Chairman says: “We have had several meetings with Forest Ladies and we are delighted with the opportunity to work with the club. We genuinely look forward to welcoming Nottingham Forest Ladies to the Bill Stokeld Stadium for the 2008 - 2009 season. It is an honour to host Nottingham Forest Ladies in the FA National Premier League.”
